What do I need to bring on race day?
Bring one official form of identification (license, passport, photo ID, etc.). You MUST provide one of these forms of identification in order to participate, whatever your role, Runner, Zombie or Volunteer.
Provide a signed race waiver. Participants under the age of 18 MUST bring a printed waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian to the event or we cannot let you in.
You will need cash for food, beverages and merchandise (ATMs will be available on site.)
You will be covered in mud after the race, so bring a towel and a change of clothing (especially socks and clean shoes to change into). You will be able to check-in your bag before the event and pick it up after you’re done with the race. We will have a “decontamination zone” and changing areas at the event so you can clean off and enjoy yourself
How difficult is the course?
Our obstacle course consists of a number of obstacles that involve varied degrees of difficulty. They will range from easy to difficult and will test your agility, endurance and sense of fear. However, we want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time, so they will not be impossible to accomplish.
Is a waiver required?
Absolutely. The waiver is acknowledged when you register online, and hard copies will be available to sign when you arrive at the race. View the Waiver.
How do I wear the belt with flags?
You will be provided with 3 flags, these represent your lifelines. The flags must be visible at all times or you will be immediately disqualified. You wear one on your left side, one on your right side and one on your back side. You should not attempt to hide your flags or you will be escorted off the course by the race officials. There will be no refunds.
What happens if the Zombies take all my lifelines?
You are now infected, and may not take other runner’s flags. If you can make it to a “Vaccination Station,” and if you can complete that specific obstacle, the staff will give you another lifeline. Your main goal is to survive – if you have to cross the finish line with no lifelines, you finish among the infected.
Is there any physical contact between Zombies and Racers?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! Deliberate contact is PROHIBITED. Anyone violating this rule will be removed from race without a refund. Zombies are specifically instructed to only grab flags and may not push or grab you. The same rules apply to the race participants. You can protect your flags by spinning and running from the zombies.
Is the race a timed event?
No, the race will not be timed. It will be difficult enough to make sure you don’t get infected or eaten.
Do I have to be in great shape to participate?
No, it is a fun event where you can walk or rest as you deem necessary. You also may bypass any obstacle that may be too difficult for you.
May I skip a challenge or obstacle?
Yes, but if you choose to skip any challenge or obstacle all zombies will descend upon you and remove your flags, just wave your hand to surrender.
What is the appropriate attire for a Runner?
First and foremost, be comfortable- as long as you keep those swimsuit places covered, you can wear and run in whatever you feel like wearing, i.e. a costume, a swimsuit, sweats, etc.
Am I allowed to bring in my own food?
NO. There will be plenty of food and drinks available for purchase after you have finished the race.
No outside food is allowed.
What happens if I am injured?
Staff will be on site to administer first aid and get you back into the race if possible. If you are unable to continue, unfortunately we cannot refund your entry fee. In the event that our staff cannot give you the necessary first aid, you may opt to be transported to the nearest hospital. If you do go to the hospital, the responsibility of this decision rests entirely with you and any costs that may be incurred.
If I cannot make it to the run, can I give my ticket to someone else?
Yes – as long as the new runner meets the age requirements. You must notify us by email 48 hours prior to race day. You can submit a request for transfer through our Contact Us form.
