There are certain opportunities in the haunt industry that you know you’ll never forget. Getting the chance to collaborate with someone whose work you’ve admired for years is one of them.

This season, Woods of Terror has had the incredible opportunity to work with Dee Snider on Strangeland, and it’s been one of those experiences that reminds us exactly why we love what we do.

For a haunted attraction, collaboration is nothing new. We work with artists, builders, actors, makeup artists, designers, musicians, technicians, and countless other creative people every year. But there is something especially exciting about getting to collaborate with a celebrity who has already created such an iconic legacy in entertainment.

Dee Snider is known around the world for his career as a musician and frontman, but his work extends far beyond the stage. His involvement with Strangeland gave horror fans a completely different side of his creativity, and getting the opportunity to work with him and bring elements of that world into Woods of Terror is something we’re incredibly excited about.

Working with someone like Dee isn’t simply about putting a famous name on something and calling it a day. It’s about collaboration. It’s about taking ideas, experiences, characters, and creative visions and figuring out how they can work together in a live haunted attraction.

That’s what makes this project so exciting.

A movie and a haunted attraction are completely different forms of entertainment. When you’re watching a movie, the story happens in front of you. When you’re walking through a haunted attraction, you’re inside the experience. You’re surrounded by the characters, the environment, the sounds, and the action.

The challenge is figuring out how to take something people know from the screen and translate that feeling into a live environment.

That’s where the fun begins.wot-dee-snider-blog

Getting to work with Dee Snider on Strangeland has allowed our team to collaborate creatively and think about how we can bring this world to life in a way that feels right for Woods of Terror while still respecting what makes the original so memorable.

And let’s be honest, getting to say, “We’re working with Dee Snider on Strangeland” is pretty amazing.

For the people who work at Woods of Terror, opportunities like this are incredibly meaningful because we know how much work happens behind the scenes to create a haunt. Our team spends months building environments, developing characters, training actors, creating costumes, testing effects, and figuring out how every piece fits together.

Then you get the chance to work with someone whose career has influenced an entirely different part of the entertainment world.

It’s also another example of how the haunt industry continues to evolve. Haunted attractions aren’t just haunted houses anymore. They’re immersive experiences that bring together horror, theater, film, music, special effects, storytelling, and live entertainment.

And when you get the right people together, something really special can happen.

We’re incredibly excited about what this collaboration means for Woods of Terror and for our guests. We can’t wait for people to experience what we’ve been working on and see how we’ve brought this project into our world.

For us, this isn’t simply about working with a celebrity. It’s about getting the opportunity to create something together. It’s about taking the world of Strangeland, bringing our own Woods of Terror experience to it, and creating something that gives horror fans another reason to walk through our gates. And honestly, we still have moments where we step back and think about how crazy it is. Years ago, we were just building a haunted attraction and trying to make it better every season.

Now we’re collaborating with Dee Snider.

That’s a pretty incredible journey.

We’re grateful for the opportunity, excited about what’s ahead, and incredibly proud of what our team is creating.

Strangeland is coming to Woods of Terror, and we can’t wait for you to step inside.

Bigger. Better. The Best.
