The Monster Midway is the beating heart of Woods of Terror and one of the most unforgettable experiences our guests enjoy each season. Introduced in 2001, ten years after Woods of Terror first opened its gates, the Monster Midway has become much more than a waiting area, it is an attraction all its own. From the moment guests step through our entrance, they are immersed in an electrifying atmosphere filled with live entertainment, terrifying monsters, interactive experiences, delicious food, unique shopping, and nonstop excitement.
Over the years, the Monster Midway has continued to evolve. Nearly every building has been redesigned with detailed facades, creating an authentic haunted village atmosphere. Guests are welcomed by larger-than-life projection displays featuring high-quality moving graphics powered by cutting-edge AI technology. Every corner provides incredible photo opportunities, making the Monster Midway one of the most photographed locations at Woods of Terror.
As guests explore, they are greeted by our energetic staff and terrifying cast of monsters roaming the streets, interacting with visitors, and creating unforgettable memories. The Main Stage serves as the centerpiece of the midway, featuring nightly performances by Bone Daddy and our house band, Crypt Kicker. Together, they perform an exciting mix of original music and classic rock favorites that keep the energy high throughout the evening. Between performances, our house DJ keeps the dance floor packed, creating a festival-like atmosphere before guests enter the haunted attractions.
One of the highlights of every evening is the Monster Parade. Just before the haunted attractions open, hundreds of monsters storm through the back gates and parade down the center of the midway. Led by Bone Daddy, the monsters interact with guests, choose their “victims,” and fill the midway with screams, laughter, and excitement. Following an electrifying scream fest and Bone Daddy’s legendary rendition of the National Anthem, the monsters are unleashed into the haunted attractions to begin another night of terror.
While waiting to enter the haunt, guests can enjoy a wide variety of attractions and amenities. The Monster Midway features three full-service bars offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, along with our popular glowing souvenir cups. Hungry guests can enjoy favorites from Roadkill Grill, including hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, and other cookout classics. Fresh mini donuts remain a fan favorite, and new for the 2026 season, guests can enjoy handcrafted coffee from our brand-new coffee shop before facing their fears.
Shopping is another major attraction within the Monster Midway. Our main gift shop offers an extensive selection of official Woods of Terror merchandise, including T-shirts, hoodies, hats, accessories, and collectibles. Guests can also browse locally made jams, salsas, fruits, and specialty products from McLaurin Farms. New for 2026, our WOTfx Booth offers professionally crafted masks, props, and special effects items created by the talented Woods of Terror team.
Entertainment continues throughout the night on our Side Stage, where talented performers captivate audiences with exciting acts. From dance teams and fire breathers to contortionists, specialty performers, and interactive entertainment, the Side Stage keeps guests engaged while encouraging audience participation. During the off-season, it also serves as a popular venue for special events and photo opportunities.
After enjoying everything the Monster Midway has to offer, guests make their way into our 17 and counting world-class haunted attractions. Even after surviving the haunt, many visitors return to the midway to enjoy the live music, grab another bite to eat, shop for souvenirs, and soak in the unforgettable atmosphere before ending their night.
