The leaves are beginning to change colors; there’s a crisp breeze in the early mornings, and you’ve got one thing on your mind – Halloween! If that sounds like you, then it’s time to start planning your trip to Woods of Terror. Whether you visit once a season or once every weekend, it never hurts to be prepared.

The first thing you’ll need to decide is which night you want to attend. This is probably the toughest part! Fridays and Saturdays in September typically have shorter wait times and lower ticket prices. If you only like to be scared in October, we completely understand; but be prepared for longer waits if you’re purchasing a General Admission ticket.

If you’d rather spend less time waiting and more time screaming, we offer Fast Pass and All Access Passes that make your wait virtually nonexistent. For the ultimate Woods of Terror experience, check out our Golden Ticket Meet & Greet, designed for the biggest fans who want exclusive access to interact with our monsters before the general public arrives.

Once you’ve picked your date, it’s time to decide how you’ll purchase your tickets. You can buy them in advance through our online ticketing system or purchase them at the gate. We highly recommend purchasing your tickets online ahead of time, especially during October, as General Admission ticket lines can become very long the closer we get to Halloween.

If you choose to purchase tickets at the gate, please remember that our ticket booth is cash only. Military members and veterans can take advantage of our Buy One, Get One (BOGO) offer on all ticket types with a valid military ID. This special offer is available at the ticket booth only and cannot be purchased online.

Not quite ready to enter the haunted attractions? We also offer a Midway Only Ticket for just $10, available exclusively at the ticket booth. This ticket gives you access to our immersive midway, where you can enjoy live entertainment, meet our roaming monsters, grab food and drinks, visit the gift shop, and soak in the Halloween atmosphere without entering the haunted attractions.

Next up; parking! This is one detail many guests forget to plan for before they arrive. Parking is $20.00 per vehicle, cash only, every night. Everyone entering the property must pay to park. Don’t have cash? No worries! We have an ATM available on-site to make your arrival as smooth as possible.

Now for the fun part; what should you wear? North Carolina weather can be unpredictable, so we always recommend checking the forecast before heading out. Woods of Terror is a rain-or-shine event. We have several covered areas throughout our midway, and approximately 95% of the haunted attractions are covered along the trail.

While umbrellas are not permitted inside the attraction, you’re welcome to wear a raincoat or poncho if rain is in the forecast. Our trails are covered with gravel, so comfortable, closed-toe shoes are highly recommended since you’ll be doing quite a bit of walking throughout the night.

Before entering the attraction, you’ll pass through our security checkpoint. To help speed up the process, please leave prohibited items in your vehicle. Bags and purses are not permitted (medical bags are allowed but will be searched). Weapons of any kind, including guns, knives, pepper spray or mace, brass knuckles, and similar items, are strictly prohibited. Lighters and matches are also not allowed. These policies are in place to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Once you’re inside the midway, be sure to take some time to explore! You’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet our monsters, snap photos, and create unforgettable memories before entering the haunted attractions. We love seeing your pictures, so don’t forget to tag Woods of Terror when you share your experience on social media.

To help preserve the atmosphere and protect our actors, we ask that you refrain from using flash photography inside the haunted attractions. Flash can temporarily affect our monsters’ vision and ruin the scares for other guests.

Feeling hungry or thirsty? Our concession stands and gift shops accept both cash and credit cards, so you’ll have plenty of payment options if you’d like to grab a snack, a Banshee Brew, or a souvenir to remember your visit.

If you’re planning to enjoy an adult beverage, please remember to bring a valid photo ID. All guests purchasing alcohol will be ID checked and issued a 21+ wristband. As always, please drink responsibly.

We hope this guide helps you feel prepared for your visit to Woods of Terror this Halloween season. With a little planning ahead, you’ll spend less time worrying about the details and more time experiencing the Bigger. Better. The Best. haunted house attraction in North Carolina.
