bone-daddy-on-throneFor 35 years, one face has been a constant at Woods of Terror: Bone Daddy.

Behind the iconic red Mohawk, skeleton makeup, and larger-than-life personality is Woods of Terror owner and operator Eddie McLaurin.

Since Woods of Terror opened in 1991, Eddie has helped build it from a local haunted attraction into one of North Carolina’s most recognizable Halloween destinations. Through 35 seasons of changes, new technology, bigger attractions, and new generations of haunt fans, Eddie has remained at the center of it all.

And Bone Daddy has been right there with him.

The Mohawk has become one of the most recognizable features of the character. The makeup, the voice, the attitude- it all comes together to create a character that is unmistakably Woods of Terror.

But Bone Daddy isn’t just a costume Eddie puts on.

He’s become part of the identity of Woods of Terror.

Over the years, generations of guests have met Bone Daddy on the Midway, watched him perform, taken photos with him, and brought their own families back to experience the Woods. Some guests who first met Bone Daddy as kids now return with children of their own.

That’s one of the coolest parts of 35 years in the haunt business: watching Halloween traditions become family traditions.

Eddie has never been one to simply settle for what he’s already built. He’s continued to push Woods of Terror forward, adding attractions, entertainment, characters, special events, and new experiences while keeping the personality that makes the haunt unique.

You’ll find Bone Daddy throughout the season, whether he’s welcoming guests, entertaining on the Midway, or performing with the Woods of Terror band.

He’s also part of one of Eddie’s favorite traditions, the nightly rock-and-roll performance of the National Anthem.

After 35 years, Bone Daddy has become much more than a character.

He’s a symbol of Woods of Terror.

The red Mohawk. The skeleton face. The unmistakable personality.

For generations of haunt fans, that’s Bone Daddy.

And for Eddie McLaurin, 35 years of terror isn’t the end of the story. It’s another milestone in a legacy that continues to grow.

35 years. One Bone Daddy. And plenty more terror to come.

Woods of Terror. Bigger. Better. The Best.
